About

Our Company

Iain Bell and Helen Stockdale are the founders of Book-Builder with a passion for publishing and education. Between them, the directors have decades of experience in both the print industry and in the classroom! Two years ago they developed a unique technology which enabled an idea to come to life. Since then we have been helping schools publish their Yearbooks. See what they're saying.

  • We have built a strong team of sales support staff and representatives.
  • We aim to deliver quality service and quality books.
  • We strive to offer pupils something more than just a fantastic book.
  • We offer them a unique opportunity to experience the many facets of publishing a book.
  • Most importantly, a book about them and their school days!

Our Principles

  • Our primary aim is that pupils enjoy and benefit from the experience of creating a Yearbook. We use cutting edge technology to produce a high quality book, but with the emphasis on simplicity.
  • Our aim is to create a unique learning opportunity which can be integrated into lessons or offered as an extra-curricular activity. We offer comprehensive support to schools throughout the process including free training for the Editorial team and a comprehensive Teachers pack with Curriculum tie‑ins.
  • We want all schools to have an equal opportunity to access our system regardless of their budget.
  • We understand that in many schools time is the currency and, with this in mind, we have created a user‑friendly system that requires the minimum input from over-stretched teaching staff.

Enterprises

Lots of schools use the Yearbook as a vehicle for raising funds. These funds can be used to offset the cost of the book or put towards vital school‑based projects. Here's how one school raised over £3,000 from just one Yearbook

  • Local business bought advertising space. Full colour high quality adverts can be sold as whole or part pages. We have even designed special templates for this purpose!
  • The book carried messages of support and good will from local professional and other services e.g. banks, school suppliers etc.
  • The school sold books to parents at a small premium.

In this way the school was in a win/win situation. The pupils had benefited and enjoyed building the book; parents where delighted to have a lovely keepsake; the school a wonderful record of the school year and some extra funds in the pot!!
